Hi I’m Marty

Highland-Piping is a family of professional Grade 1/Open-level Scottish Highland bagpipers and dancers who have been serving communities across the United States since 1968. Founded by the Cawthon family — five brothers and a sister — we were mentored by Scotland's leading pipers from the Army School of Bagpipe Music and have competed at the highest levels of North American piping, including placing 1st and 3rd at the prestigious Maxville solo competition. Whether you need a piper for a wedding, memorial service, corporate event, or military ceremony, we bring decades of elite-level artistry to every performance.

Our pipers compete and perform at Grade 1/Open status — the highest level in competitive piping. Brothers Marty and Scott Cawthon placed 1st and 3rd respectively at the North American solo bagpipe competition at Maxville, Canada, one of the most prestigious piping events on the continent.
Versatile Instrumentation
We bring three types of bagpipes to every engagement: Great Highland Bagpipes for open-air settings, Fireside Bagpipes designed specifically for indoor or close-space events, and Electronic Bagpipes for performances alongside traditional instruments. This ensures the right sound for any venue.
Comprehensive Memorial Services
With over 45 years of experience in memorial services, we guide families through every detail — from processional to graveside. We respond to all inquiries within 4–8 hours and arrive 45 minutes before the earliest start time, even on short notice.
Broad Repertoire and Event Coverage
We carry 200-plus tunes spanning marches, strathspeys, reels, jigs, and hornpipes, and we serve weddings, funerals, corporate events, military tattoos, fundraisers, and family gatherings. We also specialize in ceremonies such as the Kirking o' the Tartan.
