Hi I’m Tamra

Black & White String Quartet (BWSQ) is a classically trained ensemble based in Utah, performing a mix of classical masterpieces and pop/rock covers for weddings, corporate events, holiday galas, dinner parties, and receptions. Formed in 2002 at Utah State University, we have been playing together ever since — bringing over two decades of shared musical experience to every event we perform at. Whether you need an intimate duet or a full string quartet, we customize every performance to match your vision.

What you can expect from me?

Flexible Ensemble Options We offer four ensemble formats: a full string quartet, a string trio, a dual-cello duet called CHelō, and a violin-and-cello duet. Each configuration is tailored to the size and feel of your event, from large elegant galas to small intimate ceremonies.
Extensive and Customizable Repertoire Our repertoire spans timeless classical works by Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, and Handel to modern hits from Coldplay, Taylor Swift, and Adele. Every booking includes one complimentary special music request — if we don't have it, we'll arrange it specifically for your ensemble.
Hundreds of Events Performed We have performed at hundreds of weddings and events, and each of our musicians is highly sought after in their own specialty — from recording in film studios to performing with the Utah Symphony. That depth of professional experience means seamless coordination on your event day.
Transparent and Professional Logistics We arrive at least 15 minutes early, dress in formal performance attire, and handle timing coordination directly with your planner or officiant — so you can focus on enjoying your celebration.
